This One (California common)
Now available in the LCBO and bronze medal winner at the 2018 Ontario Brewing Awards. Our take on a California Common, a unique North American style with a rich history dating back to the Gold Rush era, this beer is based on our award-winning recipe. It has a moderate malt presence, intertwined with balanced notes of toast and caramel, finished with hints of rustic wood on the nose. It has a beautiful copper color that finishes as crisp as an autumn morning. So when your server or bartender asks what you’d like to drink, point at the menu and say, “I’ll have This One.” You’ll be glad you did. 5.2%, 35 IBU
Anytime (pale ale)
This american-style pale ale exhibits a glorious golden hue with a slight bitter finish, and the nose expresses mild and pleasant tropical hints of mango, tangerine and pineapple, with a slight resinous back note. The perfect blend of character and sessionability. As the name suggests, enjoy Anytime…anytime. 5% abv, 35 IBU
Shaggin' Wagon (IPA)
Recent bronze medal winner at the 2018 Ontario Brewing Awards. Brewed in the New England style, this hazy IPA is bursting with juicy tropical notes of pineapple, tangerine and apricot. Bitterness takes a back seat while the hop flavour and aroma can't sit still as they sing their hearts out in the front. A heavy dose of oats and wheat contribute to a soft, creamy body that carries this outrageous beer along its road trip. Hop on the shaggin' wagon and sing along. MOCK (yeah)...ING (yeah)...BIRD (yeah)...
Come by the brewery, hang by the bar and put the vibe out. 6.4% abv, 55 IBU
Jagged Little Pilsner (European pilsner)
Same great beer, now in a smaller format! Available on tap and in 355mL cans, this lager is golden in colour with an assertive hop flavour, spicy floral notes and crisp, refreshing finish that pilsners are known for. We went old school using all Saaz hops, but the stray in us gives it a slight haze character. Make sure you Czech this German out, as we went all Pilzen on the malt. 5.2% abv and 38 IBU
Summer Slam (cucumber wheat)
Recent gold medal winner at the 2018 Ontario Brewing Awards, our refreshing, spa-like beer is now available on tap and in cans. It's as if we put a little bit of sunny warmth and patio essence in every sip. We added 150 fresh cucumbers to make this a refreshing ale that is reminiscent of cool, fresh rain, a slight grassiness, emboldened by a hint of pepper and citrus. Slam this sucker right in your pie hole today. 5.0%, 30 IBU
Jeanne d'Ark (Oatmeal Stout)
Jeanne d’Arc, or Joan of Arc, is considered a heroine of France and was a feisty and clever military strategist. Known by her nickname, "the Maid of Orléans" (La Pucelle d'Orléans), she was certainly a strong woman ahead of her time and is well deserving of the namesake boulevard that runs through our community. We dedicate this beer to honour our Orléans roots and to strong women everywhere. Jeanne d'Ark is a creamy and delicious oatmeal stout with pronounced chocolate and coffee on the nose, a dense tan head, slight bitterness on the tongue followed by a smooth finish. Battle the autumn evening chill with a glass of this saintly beverage. 5.8% ABV and 36 IBU
50 Shades of Grisette
When loads of plump juicy raspberries step in to meet our first-ever grisette, little did we realize the path our beer would take. 50 Shades of Grisette is as enigmatic as it is delicious. We plunged headlong into this old-style of beer, and learned the grisette's true flavourful proclivities when paired with berries. The result pushes the boundaries of pure palate pleasure.
Where Belgian saisons developed as restorative beverages for tired farmhands working the fields, the grisette was brewed to quench the thirst of those working in the mines.
The name grisette literally means "little gray" and refers to either the gray stone that the miners dug through, or the gray-dressed women who served the ale.
Light in body and low in alcohol, this grisette is a little bit of naughty and a whole lot of nice. Brisk, tart, light and dry, the ingredients used have come together in a true climax of bright and refreshing qualities, yet still has a complex flavor that is easy to drink.
Perfect pairs include moules frittes or a nice, soft cheese, but is a welcome three-some to charcuterie.
4.9% ABV and 25 IBU.
Brite Future (IPA) sold out
This batch is bursting with waves of tropical hoppy goodness. Brewed in collaboration with CRAFT Beer Market Ottawa as part of its Community Brew series, one dollar from every glass sold will go to the The Shine Group Community Music Program, using music education as a catalyst for social change in underserviced neighbourhoods. Brite Future is an intensely aromatic, hazy juice bomb that will leave your tastebuds singing...and we all know that music is the language of love. 6.5% ABV and 50 IBU. Available at the brewery.
Quit Your Job (DIPA) sold out
Two questions we often get are: "When is Quit Your Job coming back," and "When are you going to brew a double IPA?" Well, we decided to answer both questions at once: "Right now!" We figured that making bold life decisions should be rewarded with a bold beer, so we brought back Quit Your Job as a double dry-hopped IIPA. This 8% ABV, lupulin-loaded powerhouse is bursting at the seams with sweet citrus, mango and lychee character, thanks to a heavy-handed mix of some intensely aromatic Australian and American hops. Dedicated to anyone who has had the courage to chase what they are passionate about and not let fear hold them back from pursuing their dreams. Quit Your Job DIPA was brewed in celebration of straying from the norm. 8% ABV and 65 IBU.
Pounders Porter (Brown Porter) sold out
Our latest release is in recognition of the people who believed in us from the beginning; the Pounders Club. Being that it is Thanksgiving weekend, this is our way of saying 'thanks' for the support.
Stray Dog Brewing’s founding members, a.k.a. Pounders, are modern day beer heroes. They are the people who not only appreciate well-crafted beer, but also support Stray Dog’s mission: to bring hand-crafted, artisanal, palate-challenging craft beer to the masses. They believe in supporting a local business and the local economy.
They help breathe life into our dream.
Pounders Porter is a dark, almost opaque ale. On the nose you may pick up mild notes of roasted grains, chocolate, and undertones of espresso. It's light in body and mouthfeel, and the finish is mild with a dry clean finish. While you can pair this beer with dark chocolate, stew, turkey dinners, macaroons or ice cream, it really is best enjoyed on its own and in the company of friends and family. 5.8% ABV 30 IBU
Boo-Ya! (Spiced Autumn Ale) sold out

The official beer of Orléans is best enjoyed on a deck or patio, among friends, family and beer enthusiasts alike. 5% ABV and 22 IBU
Bleu Nuit (blueberry saison) sold out. Available Spring 2019
Our blueberry saison is tart and dry with a naughty whisper of berry sweetness that will keep you coming back for more. All natural and all delicious. 6.7% ABV and 27 IBU.
Boombox (Session IPA) no longer available

Dry hopped to the same level of Shaggin' Wagon, this session IPA will blast your senses with huge notes of apricot, melon and candied peach. At 4% ABV, this crisp quencher keeps the party going during the smoldering dog days of summer. We challenge you to find another low alcohol beer that delivers this much flavour. Whoop Ass (IPA) (no longer available)
WHOOP ASS (IPA) You're having one of those days. The desire to introduce a world of hurt to the object of your frustration comes to a boil. Hey Champ - instead of cracking some skulls, why not crack the tab of our new IPA, and let the therapy begin. Our Whoop Ass IPA leaps off the top rope with notes of candied tangerine, mango, and stonefruit with a subtle elbow drop of a piney, dry finish. Black Eye (Black IPA - back early 2019)
After years of studying the secret art of hops, this black IPA leaps out of the shadows and attacks the senses like a flying kick to the face. Darker than a fifth degree black belt, Black Eye combines a subtle roast character with a wallop of tropical, fruity hops. Never underestimate the element of surprise. 6% ABV, 42 IBU. This mean IPA was brewed in the hoppy dojo of Stray Dog Brewing Company in collaboration with Ottawa's own Alain Moussi, star of the Kickboxer Trilogy.
The Count (Spiced Autumn Ale - no longer available)
In the spirit of Halloween, we decided to brew a beer in honour of Orleans' most ravenous, undead, blood sucker...our accountant, *Yann Brisebois, AKA The Count! Nothing strikes fear in our hearts more than Yann when he starts talking about beer tax. It's truly frightening (especially when he's wearing his Anthrax t-shirt)! This spiced autumn ale gets some of its alluring colour and character from the generous helping of pumpkin puree added to the mash, plus the brown sugar, fresh cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and allspice added to the boil. The Count balances the wonderful flavours and aromas of Thanksgiving with the insatiable excitement of Halloween. 5.6% ABV, 27 IBU and ready to par-tay.
*Yann is an amazing accountant who has helped bring our brewery to where it is today. We are truly thankful for him; however, we can neither deny nor confirm if he is undead.
One Hop Wonder Series
One Hop Wonder: Enigma
Our seventh in the One Hop Wonder series, we chose the enigmatic hop Enigma, as it is truly puzzling, mystifying, and
equally delicious. Surrounding the cloak of deception in this Australian beauty are notes of red currant, pinot gris, stonefruit, and mango.
But Enigma is truly a chameleon, disguising itself as fruity and soft, yet also imparting slight dankness and melon. No matter how you interpret
this beer, one thing is for certain - it is a pleasure on the palate. Limited quantities, so get it before it disappears.
Drink fresh and enjoy with friends! 6% ABV 40 IBU
One Hop Wonder: El Dorado (Extra Pale Ale) (no longer available)
The One Hop Wonder Series continues! This time, we're shining the spotlight on the ever popular El Dorado. Enjoy fresh – 5.8% ABV and 45 IBU
Mosaic (New England style Pale Ale) (no longer available)
A one-hit wonder is any entity that achieves mainstream popularity and success for a very short period of time, often for only one piece of work, and becomes known among the general public solely for that momentary success.
But hops are different! Alone, they can shine in the spotlight, but can also play well within a group. We think every hop deserves it’s time to shine. But only you can determine whether it’s a player or a pretender.
We're stoked to launch the first beer in our single hop series "One Hop Wonder." In this batch, Mosaic is the solo hop to step into the spotlight and get its 15-minutes of fame. It already has quite a ravenous following, playing a North American world tour since 2012 and has played in both solo gigs and large ensembles.
This heavy hitter grabs the mic and screams out aromas and flavours of ripe pineapple, papaya and faint candied blueberries. It will dance on your nose and in your mouth like the Macarena. Brewed in the New England style, bitterness sits in the nose bleed section while the juicy tropical fruity character has the best seat in the house.
Enjoy fresh – 5.7% abv and 45 IBU
Been a Secret (Vic Secret 1.0) (Xtra Pale Ale) (no longer available)
This hazy Extra Pale Ale is glowing with juicy hop character. Huge notes of peach, passion fruit and cantaloupe, with a subtle and soft strawberry sweetness in the finish. It's pure hoppy goodness. Vic Secret (Extra Pale Ale) (no longer available)
The One Hop Wonder Series continues! This time, we're shining the spotlight on an Australian hop called Vic Secret. This unique hop from the "land down under" demands its 15 minutes as it flaunts its bright, juicy personality of peach, passion fruit and cantaloupe. For those who enjoyed "Been A Pleasure" (a tribute beer that we previously released), this beer is very similar, but a little more punchy. We changed the yeast, modified the grain bill and upped the hopping rate. It's no "secret" that this XPA (Extra Pale Ale, or Extra Pleasure Ale) will transport your taste buds to a tropical paradise. Enjoy fresh – 5.8% ABV and 40 IBU.
Nelson Sauvin (Xtra Pale Ale) (no longer available)
Our One Hop Wonder series continues! This time we're shining the spotlight on the elusive Nelson Sauvin. Named after the Sauvignon Blanc grape, this variety of hop was developed and grown in New Zealand. It is known for being one of the most unique varieties, displaying a strong fruity flavor and aroma that is described as resembling white wine, orfresh crushed grapes or gooseberries. Some folks perceive its fruitiness as being very tropical with descriptions including passion fruit, tangerines and grapefruit. We're picking out notes of apricot, lemon and white wine. Come give it a try and let us know what you pick out. Enjoy fresh – 5.8% ABV and 45 IBU.
Citra (Xtra Pale Ale) (no longer available)
Just in time for New Year's Eve, the final installment of the One Hop Wonder Series for 2017 concludes with Citra. The Infamous...IPA (no longer available)
Our first IPA, this is our hip-hoppy ode to rapper Prodigy (RIP). Like the album of the same name, this IPA is certified gold! The slight malt sweetness is delicately balanced with notes of peach, grapefruit, pineapple, mango and lychee fruit. The North American hops really "give up the goods." A crisp finish with a muted bitterness will allow you to go "mobb deep" with this sneaky 6.4% abv, 55 IBU can of ultimate summer goodness.
RIPE NOW (Watermelon Wheat) no longer available
Our super-refreshing watermelon wheat beer. This time we loaded the fermenter with the juice of over 100 brave melons and we dropped the ABV to 4.8% for maximum thirst-quenching goodness. The result is a well-balanced beer that screams patio/beach/friends/fires. What are you waiting for? Get it, RIPE NOW!
Le Normandie (saison) (no longer available)
Le Normandie is a refreshing, unfiltered, hazy saison. Hints of white pepper, lemon and banana are prominent on the nose. This french-inspired beer is our homage to a long gone, but not forgotten Orléans landmark.
The motel was a place for weary travelers to rest. It was also a gathering place for locals to hang out at the bowling alley, eat at the restaurant, and home to many dances and community events.
Be a part of our community and raise a glass to Orléans history. 6% abv 28 IBU
